Bridesmaid Jewelry Brings Out The Lady In You

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

The wedding is an event that girls look forward to and treasure which is why they consider it a special one. The girls are the ones who are most excited about the event most of the time. For instance, if one of the girls in a clique would break the news that she is going to get married, all of the other girls would feel as excited and happy for her. They are also going to help in the preparation and with the other things that must be prepared for the wedding so they are more than just dolls who would walk down the aisle. If you are one of the bridesmaids, you should make sure that you are going to make everyone gape when they see you. A pleasant aura and bridesmaid jewelry should do the magic.

What are other things that you could do to be able to make yourself look dazzling and pretty that day? Well, here are a few simple steps to achieving that wedding day glam:

1. You must be ready. A lot of times, the couple will be the ones providing the gown and other particulars of the entourage. But it is also nice that you prepare the shoes and accessories yourself. So that if the couple will not be able to provide those, you at least have them ready so there will be no need to hastily look for one.

2. You must see to it that you have taken a rest off of the preparation time. A week or maybe a few days of beauty rest are enough to make you feel refreshed during the big event. It is important that you should have some time to unwind and take a breather from your bridesmaid role. You see, although you are not the bride that day you should still have to make sure that you are not like any worn woman who just happened to be wearing the bridesmaid’s gown.

3. See to it that you have the bridesmaid jewelry prepared as well. It could sound a little bit vain but then it is so amazing that you are able to get a perky item such as a set of jewelry. Even though you have a pretty gown and a nice pair of shoes, if you do not wear any accessory, there would not be an extra detail that you can unravel for the people to see.

4. Sleep before the big day. By sleep, it means a long and deep time off the world. Sleeping will make your skin look more radiant which is something that will make you even more stunning. In addition, sleep makes you more relaxed and happy. No sleepless bridesmaid would look happy or fit to walk down the aisle.

5. Smile. A smile could loosen you up a bit and you would forget that it is a big romantic day that is happening. Wearing your pearly whites to the best would help you very happy and simply radiant. You will just hear people comment that you are happy and pretty.

6. Be confident. The best way to look pretty is to feel confident. Even if there will be glitches, you are sure that you still look your best.

Of course, an ensemble like a gown that is stylish, a nice pair of shoes and a set of bridesmaid jewelry are enough to make any person simply breathtaking. Although you are not the bride, you will still feel just as special.

Weddings are such joyous occasion that everyone participating in the wedding entourage are excited to experience its preparation. You can begin with bridesmaid jewelry that will display a stunning effect on this big day. Or you may want to try personalized wedding favors.

Wedding Favors: A History

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Wedding favors are small gifts, trinkets, or tokens that are given to the bride and grooms guests either at the end of a wedding ceremony or during the wedding reception. These are usually tokens of appreciation for attending the bridegroom’s special day.

The giving of wedding favors is a very old tradition. It is widely believed that the first ever practice of giving wedding favors were done by old European aristocrats, nobles, and members of the elite and upper class. At first they called a wedding favor a bonbonniere, which is Italian for favors.

Centuries ago, bonbonnieres were always characterized by a little box, the size of a trinket or jewel box that was made out of porcelain, crystals, and rarely with additional precious gems and stones. These boxes often had sugar, sugar cubes, and other fragile confections. This was created to solely signify loyalty and wealth. The purpose for this was, because back then, sugar was a rare commodity because of its expensiveness, only the rich people and the nobles could have and could afford it at that particular time.

But due to the passage of time as sugar became a basic commodity and more usual, couples not belonging to the upper classes were able to have access to it. Thus, the tradition of giving a wedding favor and other special gifts of gratitude was spread to the people, to couples belonging to either upper or lower class.

Sugar coated almonds became popular as confetti and was later known in the thirteenth century. As time passed by confetti then became sugared almonds, and became popular as the modern day wedding favors in weddings nowadays.

It was part of the tradition to bear five Jordan almonds to be offered in a confection box or to be wrapped in a fine fabric. Each almond signifies wealth, health, longevity and long lasting joy. One fundamental reason why almonds were used, apart from being a bit expensive, was because its bitterness and sweetness of candy coat symbolizes the perfect mix of marriage.

Today, gifts to wedding guests are more popularly called as wedding favors and the distribution of these tokens of gratitude to guests is a long tradition shared by different cultures across countries around the globe.

These are just to name a few. There are more types of wedding favors out there, especially in today’s modern world.
