A trendy dining spot that dishes up sustainable seafood right on the waterfront, C Restaurant Vancouver is one of the few restaurants that delivers such an extraordinary culinary experience. Perfecting every single detail from interior design to ambiance and quality of food, the restaurant wins the votes of gastronomic experts and the general public as Vancouver’s top elite restaurant. Let’s dissect every aspect of C Restaurant that has made it the perfect culinary spot:
As far as design is concerned, entering the glasshouse that houses the restaurant, you will be greeted by a colossal boulder that has been extracted from a local quarry to serve as the restaurant’s reception. Inside the building, light flows in through floor-to-ceiling glass windows that extend up to the second levels. With a stark white theme, the entire restaurant was specially designed by a local designer, to give an air of simplicity and style.
There is a mezzanine on the second floor, and here you get a stunning view of the harbor in the evenings, as the sun sets over False Creek. One of the sections in the restaurant also allows you to observe the kitchen crew in action. One end of the mezzanine leads straight to the wine cellar, host to more than 350 varieties of European wine. Special events and candlelit dinners are hosted out here.
Another winning factor is the restaurant’s outdoor patio. In winter, it is heated to provide an alluring but warm atmosphere. Summer sees everyone out under the sun, dining al fresco and enjoying the view of the Burrard Bridge in the far distance.
The chef of this highly acclaimed sea food restaurant – Rob Clarke believes that a perfect seafood cuisine should come straight from the local waters and should be put together with the freshest local condiments and produce to be rated as the Best seafood in Vancouver’ . Most of the seafood dishes in this restaurant are admixed with inventive sauces and innovative flavours.
The specialty you wouldn’t want to miss is the smoked pink salmon cerviche with cilantro pearls and jellyfish slaw. This international favorite is touched up by the chef’s own creativity at C. however, my personal favorite would have to be duck jerky with a topping of spicy citrus vinaigrette and heirloom carrot shavings. This fusion of flavors is unbeatable.
The restaurant recently launched its cookbook – C FOOD. The book contains the preparations included in the six-course dinner menu of a regular seafood platter. The menu would cost CA$128 with book and CA$98 without book. The recipes highlighted in the book are chilled fennel consomm and Grilled AAA Beef cap.
This restaurant has been awarded quite often. Amongst its awards, it has received the Best Seafood Restaurant award from the Vancouver Magazine, and the Dirona Distinguished Restaurants of North America award.
With such a glorious setting, the C Restaurant would make up for a perfect wedding or event venue. Whether you are celebrating New Year’s Eve or your wedding anniversary, the outdoor patio of C Restaurant would make it as special as it can be. Prices are not too expensive as well, prices of main dishes start from 16euros, while appetizers start from 9euros. For an all-rounded gastronomic experience, C Restaurant Vancouver is unbeatable.
